Corfu

Pelekas, Sidari, Kontokali, Gouvia

West coast: Here lie the most beautiful beaches Corfu has to offer. Hence it is rather surprising that so few visitors are familiar with the western coast and that its beaches are far less frequented than those of other areas. A more than noteworthy little village is Pelekas, picturesquely located on the side of a hill.

Many artists retire to this secluded and quiet corner of Corfu. The entire western coast unfolds its charm with quaint fishing villages and traditional cafes that have successfully retained the distinctly Corfiot way of life.

North coast: The north coast is particularly popular amongst ornithologists since it harbours many important areas of refuge for threatened species. Sidari is considered the entertainment capital of the area and is undergoing constant growth in terms of popularity. Families tend to prefer the friendly villages of Kontokali and Gouvia with their yachting harbours and venetian docks in the northeast.
