Corfu's tourist sector is well-established and each visitor will have to decide according to personal preferences on which coast to spend the holiday.

East coast: The east coast with Corfu City is undoubtedly the cultural centre of the island, though Messonghi is equally popular. However, none of the eastern coast towns can compete with Benitses in terms of popularity. Benitses is perfectly nestled at the bottom of a valley and offers astonishing views over the sea and the Greek mainland.

South coast: Tourist life in the south is predominantly centred upon Kavos. The lively bars make Kavos an especially popular destination for young people.
